Dr. Michelle Truong fell immediately head over heels in love with Austin, TX when she first moved to the capital city to join a group practice after graduating from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. Austin is a city that offers much of what she loves: great restaurants, great outdoors with hills and lakes, great live music, great diverse people! Dr. Truong knew in her heart that Austin is the city she would want to practice her profession long-term; and in the summer of 2013, when she spotted the location that is now Banyan Tree Dental, she had the once bike store converted to a modern day dental office catering to the families of Austin.
Dr. Truong feels fortunate to be a dentist in today's age, where advanced technology is incorporated into dentistry, making it fun for her. She enjoys providing dental care for her patients and feels privileged to be able to restore a smile or relieve a toothache. She likes all aspects of dentistry. but her passion is in orthodontics, where she would straighten crowded teeth or close spaces to restore a balanced bite, allow easier cleaning, and achieve a desired full, broad smile for her patients.
Outside her profession, Dr. Truong enjoys traveling (Her most recent adventure? Russia during the Soccer World Cup in June, 2018), visiting her birth country of Vietnam to reconnect with her roots, dabbling in some cooking, practicing conversational Spanish, and mostly, enjoying the hill country outdoors with her family!
